Further to the approval of the Football Association and the Birmingham County FA, the Annual General Meeting of the Southern League last Saturday in Stratford also approved the change of name of the senior team to Rugby Town for the 2005-06 season. 

Work has been ongoing in ensuring that all issues relating to the name change are in place, and this will continue to ensure a smooth transition in time for the new season's kick-off.  Club Director Mike Yeats said, "This is a time of change for everyone associated with the club, and we are hoping that everybody can get behind us and give the borough of Rugby a team to be proud of."
