While
Rugby were in FA Cup action
this weekend, the BGB
Premier Division continued
with 5 fixtures.
There
was no change at the top
of the league as both
King's Lynn & Merthyr
Tydfil enjoyed FA Cup
success over Halesowen
& Slimbridge respectively
while Bath City &
Yate Town both moved onto
17 points in joint second
with Merthyr after playing
out a 1-1 draw at Twerton
Park. Yate’s Darren Edwards
equalised Arkadiusz Zarczynski’s
first-half opener for
the hosts.
Gloucester
City kept pace with the
chasing pack by gaining
a point from a 2-2 draw
with Team Bath. But having
led twice, and conceding
the second equaliser four
minutes from time, the
Tigers will consider this
as two points dropped.
Such
is the close competition
in this year’s Premier
Division, Chippenham Town’s
1-0 win at Tiverton Town
lifted the Bluebirds six
places in the table just
above Rugby and Wealdstone’s
4-2 win at Corby Town
lifted them out of the
relegation zone.
Meanwhile
in the FA Cup, Maidenhead
United joined King's Lynn
& Merthyr in the Fourth
Qualifying Round draw
with a win against Worthing
United while Clevedon,
Hitchin, Mangotsfield
& Hemel Hempstead
were all forced to replays.
Cheshunt & Halesowen
were the only other sides
along with Rugby who were
knocked out at the 3rd
Qualifying Round stage. |
