As
part of the ongoing, successful
club integration process,
Rugby Town has confirmed
that a single kit design
will soon be worn across
all its senior, youth
and junior teams.
From the beginning of
the 2007-08 season, the
senior side will wear
a new all sky-blue kit
design, which will also
be adopted by the junior
section of the club -
who will then phase it
in over a two-year transition
period.
"It
supports our objective
of providing a structured
path of football
development through
the club"

The
senior club Board of Directors
and the junior club Executive
Committee have reached
agreement on the new strip,
and discussions are currently
underway with a number
of sportswear manufacturers
to produce the new kit
in-line with an agreed
concept design.
The sky blue kit will
incorporate an tangerine
flash on the side of the
shirts and socks to provide
a continuing link with
the existing junior section
colours. The senior team's
current first choice kit
consists of sky blue shirts,
white shorts and white
socks, whilst the junior
section wears an tangerine
and black combination
design.
Senior Club Chairman Brian
Melvin
looked forward to the
harmonisation of playing
colours. He said :
"This
shows we are continuing
to move the club forward
in accordance with the
football development plan.
It reaffirms our strategy
of encouraging a single
identity for the club
as a whole, and provides
everyone in the Borough
with clear visual linkage."
Vice Chairman of the Junior
Club's Executive Committee
Ian
Hersey
also welcomed the move.
He said :
"We
felt it was really important
that all teams from the
very youngest right through
to the first team played
in the same colours, and
supports our objective
of providing a structured
path of football development
through the age groups
and onto senior football."
As
part of the agreement
and on-going partnership,
the Juniors will also
adopt the senior's club
crest.
