The
first ever league games
were played out at TFL
last weekend at Rugby
Town FC's astroturf.
Sunday
Night League
AfroTeam,
captained by Ricardo Injai,
had impressed during the
trials and they started
the league season as they
will want to go on with
a 6-0 win over Ballacks.
Goals from Sandro Da Cruz
(2), Bruno Goncalves (2),
Josemaiz Costa and Nuno
secured the win to take
Afro top.
Captain Luis Cardoso scored
the opening goal as D-Block
overcame a stubborn 6-man
Leicester Juniors side.
Fraser Edwards equalised
in the first half and
after a barrage of second
half pressure, Helio Cardoso
found the net with the
last kick of the game.
Dark Hour Legacy recorded
a 1-0 win over DCFC with
Claudio netting the only
goal while Adam Hartwell's
goal gave Hillmorton Elite
an opening night win over
Bare Merkage.
2nd
Sport Rugby Monday Night
League
Vic
Hussain's Bad Boys were
in uncomprimising form
in their opening game
against The Big FME with
a resounding 4-0 win.
FME goalkeeper Jaroslaw
Marojek could only stand
and watch as Michael Preston
and Vic Hussain both bagged
braces.
Fighting
Cocks overcame Clifton
Inn in a keenly-contested
tie which looked as if
it could swing either
way. Clifton did well
to come back from two
goals down as A Tapp scored
twice but the Cocks eventually
came out on top by a 5-2
scoreline with P Jeffrey
(2), Dave Jones (2) and
Stuart Fairlie scoring
the goals.
The Webb were also in
good form, securing a
5-2 win over DaMan Dem
Crew. Ian McGregor and
Carl Russell helped themselves
to two goals a piece and
Dave Hall added another
for The Webb while Kyle
Dawes and Joe Bott scored
the consolations for DDC.
2nd Sport Dons claimed
a confident 2-0 win over
Ayleton Athletic with
Courtney Gordon and Antonio
Lima scoring the goals,
although they had their
goalkeeper to thank for
pulling off a string of
fine saves.
