Corby & Cirencester Earn Reprieve
Wednesday 20th June 2007

The line-up for next season's BGB Premier Division has been confirmed by the Southern League - although there could still be changes before the season begins.

Rugby Town will once again face local rivals Corby Town this season despite the Steelmen finishing in the relegation zone

The major talking point is that both Corby Town and Cirencester Town have clung onto their Premier Division status despite finishing in the automatic relegation places.

Corby's reprieve was made possible by Farnborough's automatic two-division relegation from the Conference South to the BGB South & West Division due to going into administration while Boston United's two-division tumble from Coca-Cola League Two saved Cirencester.

Other notable movements include Stamford's transfer to the Unibond Northern Premier.

2005/6 Premier Division Play-Off Winners Bedford Town did not enjoy their first season in the Conference South and endured a season which culminated in relegation back to the BGB Premier while Weston-Super-Mare join the Eagles back in the Premier.

Meanwhile, four new teams have earned promotion to the Premier Division for the 2007/8 campaign with Brackley Town and Bashley winning the Midlands and South & West Division Championships respectively. Old Western Division rivals Bromsgrove Rovers and Swindon Supermarine also ensured their placse in the Premier with Play-Off wins.
