The
Rugby Town Board of Directors are
hoping that the club's current search
and planned appointment of a new Commercial
Manager will provide the necessary
impetus for a push up the league table
next season.
Billy
Jeffrey's Town preserved their BGB
Premier status for a coming fourth
consecutive season, after a rollercoaster
2006-07 saw them finish up in 17th
spot. For the second year in succession,
a bright start was undone by a poor
run of form in the mid-season, leading
once more to a nervous end to the
campaign.
Rugby Director Mike Yeats fully realises
the importance of recruiting a suitable
individual to maximise the club's
commercial opportunities. He said
: "We have always tried to follow
a policy of sustainable development
at the club, and we know that we cannot
continue to progress purely on revenue
generated on the gate alone."
He continued : "We have developed
Butlin Road into one of the finest
facilities in non-league football,
and we have made considerable investment
in doing so - especially on our new
all-weather training pitches. We believe
there are some fantastic opportunities
for the local business community to
get involved here and support us on
the move up the non-league pyramid"
Mike concluded : "We are looking
for a talented individual to come
in and manage this process for us,
and have put together a rewarding,
success-based package for the right
person to take advantage of."
