As
preparations for Rugby Town's forthcoming
2007-08 campaign started in earnest
on the pitch with the return of players
for pre-season training last Thursday,
behind the scenes Valley have also
been busy.
Suzi
Mewes has been appointed the club's
Commercial Manager with responsibility
for generating sponsorship and other
avenues of revenue from the local
business community. She has lived
and worked in Rugby for five years,
and currently runs her own successful
PR consultancy company.
Looking
forward to her new role, she explained
: "The development of Butlin
Road has been outstanding, and it
is really important that we get local
businesses on board if we are to achieve
the success that this facility and
the town deserve."
She
continued : "I have a keen interest
in sports and saw the chance to help
further build the club as a real challenge,
and an opportunity to contribute something
positive to the local community."
27
year old Suzi will continue to manage
her own business - Ignition PR - alongside
her duties for Town. In just two years,
Ignition has built up a strong base
of clients primarily in the motorsport
sector, although she has recently
also added the Rugby Town Centre Company
to her expanding portfolio.
