Midfield
duo Willis Francis and Matt Gearing
have agreed terms with Rugby Town
for the 07/08 season.
Gearing
has been trialling with Stamford this
pre-season but returned to Rugby and
played the second half of the game
at Wellingborough.
Matt
originally joined on a short term
loan from Northampton Town towards
the end of the 05/06 season and then
joined on a permanent basis last summer.
Operating
down both flanks, Matt's pace and
spectacular goals were impressive
last term.
Francis
has been with Rugby since joining
from Grantham Town in November 2005
and has featured in 42 league games
so far for Valley.
22-year-old
Willis was a trainee with Notts County
and made fifteen league appearances
in League One before moving to Grantham.
Meanwhile,
manager Billy Jeffrey is hoping that
full back Aaron Stringfellow will
also join. He, like Gearing, has been
trialling with another club this pre-season
- Hinckley United - but he returned
for the Wellingborough friendly after
the Knitters failed to offer him terms.
