Town's
players have been wearing black armbands
as a mark of respect for Pat Herbert
- father of club captain Craig - who
died last week aged 61 years, after
suffering a recent stroke.
Pat
was a regular visitor to Butlin Road
to watch his son play over his seven
years at the club, and manager Billy
Jeffrey recalls the pre-match exchanges
he used to have with the father of
six.
"He
was a very approachable and friendly
man, and we regularly chatted before
games, and he was always extremely
knowledgeable and incisive in his
views about the game and the team."
Jeffrey
added : "Our thoughts are with
Craig and his family at this sad time,
and we all look forward to welcoming
him back to the club."
A
Requiem Mass for Pat was held at 11.00
a.m. today at St.Mary's RC Church,
Hood Street, Coventry, followed by
interment at Canley Garden Cemetery.
