Billy
Jeffrey's Rugby Town side travel to
Gloucester City this weekend looking
to build on Monday's first win of
the season against King's Lynn.
Trips
to meet the Tigers have been a regular
occurance since the turn of the millenium
although they have rarely proved to
be fruitful for Valley with just one
win from the last nine visits.
However,
with Meadow Park out of action due
being waterlogged during the pre-season,
Gloucester's temporary home is now
at Forest Green's ground, The New
Lawn.
Given
Rugby's recent record at Meadow Park,
perhaps The New Lawn could be a welcome
change for Valley to get their season
back on track after recording three
defeats in the first three games.
The
Tigers have had a mixed start to the
season with one win, one loss and
two draws from their opening four
games - the latest of which saw them
share the spoils 1-1 at home to Halesowen
on Tuesday night.
On
their last trip to Gloucester, Valley
lost out by three
goals to two, and with
Meadow Park never a happy hunting
ground for Rugby - with 5-2
and 6-1
defeats in the two trips prior to
that - hopefully a change in venue
will produce a change in fortunes
for them.
Billy
has a few injury worries ahead of
the games, with Alessandro
Barcherini, Willis
Francis and Stefan
Morley all carrying knocks
and strains.
Barcherini
was helped off in the defeat at Hemel,
but may be back in contention for
the weekend, although reserve team
keeper Simon Lynn put in a commendable
first team debut against King's Lynn
and should keep his starting place
in the side.
There is a supporters' coach travelling
to Gloucester which leaves the clubhouse
at 11.30 am. For more information
