High-flying
TeamBath are the hosts as Rugby Town
travel to Twerton Park this weekend
hoping to prolong the excellent recent
run.
After
three successive wins, Rugby have
climbed up to 7th in the table and
are now just two points and four places
shy of TeamBath in third place, despite
the Students leading the table only
two games ago.
The
match was originally scheduled to
be played at Butlin Road, but because
of a fixture clash at the Twerton
Park ground, the clubs have agreed
to switch the home and away games
- meaning the students now visit Rugby
on 26th January 2008 instead.
Team
Bath reached the end of year play-offs
last season, and have started strongly
again this time round with just one
defeat from their six opening matches
- a run of form which sees them in
3rd place in the table. Their biggest
threat is likely to come from striker
Mark Canham, who has scored five league
goals already - including a hat-trick
against Merthyr.
Manager
Billy Jeffrey should have a full squad
to choose from for Saturday's trip
to Twerton Park, where he will be
hoping for a better result than in
2006-07 when despite a cracking volleyed
effort from Matt Gearing, his side
lost
out 2-1.
David
Staff will return to the
squad after missing Tuesday's win
over Bedford while captain Craig
Herbert will be hoping to
shrug off a minor knock to play.
There
is a coach travelling to the Team
Bath game, which leaves the clubhouse
at 10.15 am. Further details on this
are available from Tony Mann on 07970
691366.
