Rugby
Town will be looking to extend their
unbeaten league run to five games
and extinguish the memory of an FA
Cup exit with a win against Tiverton
Town as attention returns to the BGB
Premier for both sides.
Tiverton,
like Rugby, crashed out of the FA
Cup last Saturday to lower league
opponents. In Tivvy's case, it was
a 3-0 home reversal to Shortwood of
the Hellenic League.
Despite
that shock, Tiverton have made a reasonable
start to the season and they have
given themselves a decent platform
to build on with 9 points so far.
Wins
against Bedford and Swindon have been
offset with defeats against Merthyr
Tydfil and King's Lynn for Tivvy while
Rugby have recorded three wins and
a draw in their last four games.
Rugby's
recent record against Tiverton is
good with no defeat in the last four
games including comfortable 3-1
and 4-1
wins in the last two games at Butlin
Road.
In
fact, Valley are unbeaten as yet at
Butlin Road against Tivvy - who will
be hoping to change that on Saturday
to leapfrog Rugby.
Rugby
manager Billy Jeffrey has a defensive
dilemma with Delroy Gordon
facing a short lay-off due to having
minor surgery on a knee injury this
week which could mean a return for
Brad Harris or a
first start for Ashley Blake
in a re-organised line-up.
