Rugby Town bounced back from their
1-0 home reverse against Cirencester
Town with a much-improved display
at Hitchin Town and Billy Jeffrey
was pleased with the performance of
his threadbare side.
With
several injuries and suspensions,
many players were forced to play in
unfamilar roles, including Mark Edge
as a right wing back and Ashley Blake
as an attacking central midfielder
but Billy was pleased with how things
worked out.
He
said: "I was delighted with the
performance and the effort tonight.
We worked hard and all we needed in
the second half was a bit of luck.
"Their
keeper has pulled off seven or eight
good saves, and we have hit a post
too. If we continue to play like that
and create the chances, I am sure
the goals will come.
"I
thought we looked better in the middle
of the park tonight. We won a lot
more ball there than on Saturday,
and Ashley (Blake) created himself
some good space behind the front two."
