Rugby Town stretched their unbeaten
league away run to seven games with
Saturday's 1-1 draw against Bedford
Town and Billy Jeffrey was satisfied
with the point gained despite an average
performance.
The
point took Valley up to twenty points
and 6th place as they prepare for
a tough double header at Butlin Road
against Chippenham and Bashley.
Billy
said: "It wasn't one of our better
performances, but we stuck at it and
probably just about deserved a point
from the game."
Rugby
probably had the better of a dour
first half despite going 1-0 down
early on to a contentious goal and
Billy felt that there was a foul on
Rugby goalkeeper Martyn Margason in
the build-up to the opener:
"We thought there was possibly
a foul on Martyn for their goal, and
they had a couple of good opportunities
to wrap the game up after that, but
we rode our luck and then took advantage
of that in the second half."
Billy introduced David Kolodynski
early in the second half and the young
substitute went on to grab a precious
equaliser for Valley:
"Young
Kolo did well when he came on. He
gave us a little extra spark and took
his goal well.
"Before
that we hadn't really troubled them
enough at the back. Kolo did what
we had asked of him in training in
the week - he battled hard, chased
things down and got at them."
