Valley
have announced one-off admission price
reductions for their forthcoming milestone
1,000th Southern League fixture against
Merthyr Tydfil on Saturday 24th November
and local businesses are also offering
prizes for spectators.
Adult
prices have been dropped to just £5
for the game, with all accompanied
juniors under 16 admitted free. Prices
for other concessions have also been
reduced to £3, with the club
hoping the discounted charges and
free entry offer will help boost the
gate on the day.
Commercial Manager Suzi Mewes said
: "Once it was confirmed that
Merthyr would be the landmark game,
we were determined to get as big as
crowd as possible to celebrate the
occasion. The Board have generously
agreed to drop prices considerably
for the game, and hopefully this will
act as an incentive for local supporters
to make a trip down to Butlin Road."
Local
businesses are also getting behind
next week's landmark occasion at Butlin
Road.
There will be a free prize draw for
all those attending on the day, with
Frankie & Benny's, Casa Loco,
the Number Ten Bowling Alley and Ask
amongst those who have already offered
to contribute items.
The club have already announced that
admission prices will be discounted
for the game, with adult spectators
charged just £5 (normal price
£7) and concessions at £3
(normal price £4), with all
accompanied under 16's given free
admission.
They hope that the reduced charges,
the free prize draw and the chance
to be part of a significant local
sporting milestone will help them
reach the ambitious target of 1,000
spectators for this 1,000th game.
