Today's fixture is probably Valley's toughest of the four remaining, when they make the long trip to the New Forest for the match-up with high flying Bashley.

5th placed Bash's excellent 4-3 home victory over Team Bath on Tuesday evening further strengthened their claim for a place in play-offs, and Brown is expecting a difficult encounter.

In fact Bashley may hold the key to the relegation conundrum, as in addition to Rugby, they will also face four of their rivals - Bedford, Hitchin, Mangotsfield and Bromsgrove - before the season is through.

Valley acquitted themselves well against Steve Riley's side earlier in the season, earning a creditable 1-1 draw from the game at Butlin Road thanks to Akin Aladetoun's equaliser.

The club's last trip to the Bashley Recreation Ground was back in September 2001, when a solitary Luke Vincent goal was enough to snatch all three points.

Rugby boss Rod Brown could make changes after last week's reversal at home to Clevedon Town with midfielders David Staff and Scott Musgrove available for selection.

Defender Aaron Stringfellow is unlikely to make the trip while Dave Pearson may not be available due to illness.

There could be a return to action for striker Rorey Curtis, who made three appearances during February for Rugby on loan from Walsall as Avun Jephcott and Ashley Robinson will not feature due to signing-on problems.

Rugby Town Squad From: Richard Anstiss, Rob Oddy, Stephan Morley, Craig Herbert, Delroy Gordon, Richard Scott, Neil King, Tom Breward, Kieran Fitzharris, Mark Edge, Scott Musgrove, David Staff, David Kolodynski, David Stone, Dave Pearson, Rorey Curtis.
