With
three games remaining, the situation
is particularly tight and Rugby know
that is in their own hands to remain
outide of the relegation zone.
With
Cheshunt and Cirencester already condemned
to regional division BGB action next
season, the fight continues between
Valley, Hitchin, Bedford, Bromsgrove
and Corby to escape the final two
relegation spots.
Valley
lie just two points and two places
ahead of the drop zone making each
of the last three games absolutely
crucial.
Rugby
have been somewhat buoyed by performances
recently, but have not had the results
to match.
Last
weekend's 1-1 draw at 5th-placed Bashley
should have yielded all three points
while Rugby's last game at Butlin
Road against Clevedon somehow ended
in defeat despite dominating for large
periods.
9th-placed
Yate are currently on an excellent
run with four wins out of the last
five including victories against Rugby's
relegation rivals Corby and Bromsgrove.
Valley
will have to be weary of the Bluebird's
top scorer Aaron Blakemore who has
netted 19 goals this term and has
an excellent turn of pace.
Rugby's
record against Yate is not bad overall,
but not good in meetings at Butlin
Road. In five previous encounters
at home, Valley are yet to record
a win over their Gloucestershire opponents.
In
the reverse fixture this season, Yate
defeated Rugby 3-1 on the day previous
manager Billy Jeffrey resigned.
The
performances of Coventry City youngster
Kieran Fitzharris
have impressed Rod and supporters
alike and the diminuative midfielder
could have a key role again today.
Rod
has also been boosted by the return
of Walsall duo Rorey Curtis
(striker) and Cameron
Jones (winger) who both played
for the club in February before being
recalled by their parent club.
Meanwhile,
Rod has been frustrated in trying
to capture the services of striker
duo Avun Jephcott
and Ashley Robinson.
Although Jephcott has joined the club,
he cannot feature until International
Clearance is gained while Robinson
cannot feature for Valley in the last
three games after a problem with his
registration.
Meanwhile,
defender Aaron Stringfellow
has left the club and young duo David
Kolodynski and Mark
Edge could be getting a run
out for the reserves at Oadby instead
this afternoon.
