Tony
Dobson has returned to Rugby Town
as first team manager.
The
39-year-old boss agreed last night
to take the vacant post to start his
second spell in charge at Butlin Road.
Tony
first joined the club in February
2001 after Martin Sockett's departure
and slowly went about building an
established side.
The
club found a consistent formula and
progressed well on the field from
the 02/03 season and eventually finished
5th in at the end of the 03/04 season
to earn a place back in the BGB Premier
for the first time in nearly ten years.
After
a year in the Premier Division, Tony
left Rugby to join Solihull Borough
in May 2005 but his spell at Damson
Park was shortlived and only lasted
a season.
Dobbo
has since been out of management but
is now keener than ever to get back.
Tony
said: "I'm delighted to be back.
"I've
been out of the game for a while and
now I've recharged my batteries so
I'm fresh and ready for the challenge."
Dobbo
takes over from a Rugby side that
has failed to win any of the opening
eight games including just two league
points and two goals.
"I
have watched the side a few times
this season and I was at Friar as
well on Saturday.
"We
are clearly in a tough place at the
moment but I'm going to bring in some
fresh faces and try to raise the confidence
levels."
Valley
chairman Brian Melvin is happy to
see Tony back on board:
"I'm
very pleased to be welcoming Tony
back to the club.
"He
was successful with his first spell
and I'm confident that he will help
to make us successful again."
Club
captain Craig Herbert will take on
a new role under Tony as a Player/Assistant
Manager with Chris Wells as a First
Team Coach.
