Rugby
Town's David Staff was not only a
star performer for Valley at the weekend
but the winger also appeared on Sky
One's Gladiators TV show, winning
through to the next round.
David, 29, recently rejoined Rugby
after spending a small amount of time
out of the game to compete on the
hit TV show which is making a comeback
on Sky One.
He
competed in four events in the first
round - Gauntlet, Powerball, Hang
Tough and Suspension Bridge - where
he knocked the Gladiator (8 stone
heavier) off the bridge, before winning
on the legendary Eliminator by a big
margin.
Staffy
has become something of a fans' favourite
since initially joining Rugby on loan
from Nuneaton in March 2007. The former
Boston United & King's Lynn midfielder
then made the move to Butlin Road
permanent for the 07/08 season and
was consistently one of Rugby's best
player.
Things
didn't quite go to plan under the
managership of Rod Brown at Valley
and David joined Brackley for the
start of this season before he won
through to the TV stage of Gladiators
and needed to take some time out of
the game.
Since
returning, David has notched two goals
in two games, including the winning
free-kick in the 4-3 win over Hitchin.
Don't
forget to catch Staffy in the next
round on Sky One on Sundays from 6-7pm.
