Leamington
strolled to success in winning the
BGB Midland Division and Nuneaton
overcame Chasetown in the play-off
final in front of over 3,000 fans
at Liberty Way to earn a promotion
at the first attempt.
Both
sides boast excellent support and
the expected derby matches against
Boro and the Brakes next season should
be great occasions.
Nuneaton
were members of the Conference (now
Blue Square Premier) not long ago
but last season suffered a two-division
demotion after going into administration.
Leamington
are also former Southern League Premier
Champions and members of the Conference
back in the early 1980s however the
club folded soon after.
The
Brakes reformed in 2000 and have won
five promotions to now finally return
to the Southern League Premier. Valley's
former reserve side, then known as
Rugby AFC faced Leamington in the
Midland Combination in 2000.
Nuneaton's
side features ex-Valley players Justin
Marsden, David Blenkinsopp and Rob
Oddy.
Rugby
will also face the huge trip to face
Truro City from Cornwall
who won promotion from BGB South &
West. Didcot Town
from Oxfordshire also won promotion
from the play-offs from the South
& West Division.
Due
to the geographical location of the
teams relegated from the Blue Square
North & South divisions, Rugby
may be facing clubs who are switched
from the UniBond and Ryman divisions.
