Town
were named as winners of the Fair
Play Award for the Premier Division
of the league in addition to ace marksman
David Kolodynski's divisional Golden
Boot success at the 2008-09 end of
season gala bash.
Valley's
fair play achievement comes hot on
the heels of the announcement that
the Rugby Town Junior FC had not had
a single FA complaint against parents,
officials or players throughout the
whole of last season.
Club
Director Mike Yeats - who accepted
the shield alongside Club Secretary
Doug Wilkins - was delighted to receive
the prize.
He
said: "This award reaffirms that
throughout all levels of the club,
we try to play the game in the right
spirit - namely a competitive but
ultimately fair one.
"The
first team have obviously conducted
themselves in a disciplined manner
this season, and it's great to see
the RTJFC sides following this example
too."
Kolodynski's
triumph came after he notched 26 goals
in Southern League competitions, a
total which left him four clear of
his nearest challenger - Gloucester's
Alex Sykes.
The
Golden Boot award rounded off a great
season for the Rugby-based youngster,
who has worked his way up through
the ranks of the club over the past
seven years- playing for the junior
section, the youth and reserve teams,
before claiming a regular spot in
Tony Dobson's starting eleven in 2008-09.
