Valley boss Tony Dobson will face a tough task lifting his side ahead of two more Zamaretto Premier Division fixtures in the coming days including Saturday's visit of the Bluebirds.

Town opened their campaign with heavy 5-1 and 4-1 defeats against Swindon Supermarine and Bedford respectively, although the second half of the Bedford game did offer a glimpse of encouragement for the Butlin Road faithful, with the home side unlucky not to get back on level terms before conceding twice more themselves late in the game.

Dobson will be conscious of avoiding of similar start to the one in 2008-09, when it was ten games before Town finally enjoyed a league victory, a failing which of course weighed heavy on the club’s shoulders for the entire season.

Rugby's record against Chippenham is poor however, with just one victory in the ten games played between the two sides - including just one draw in five matches at home.

The Bluebirds have started their campaign with two straight victories and will be hoping to improve on last season's 8th placing.

Valley will hope that goalkeeper Andy Stevens (back) and Liam Nicell (illness) will be fit for the game after missing training on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Dobson has moved to sign midfielder Shawn Richards. The 18-year-old midfielder initially started pre-season with Valley before trialling with Kettering Town.

Rugby could also welcome back Marcel Simpson and there could be a game for Andy Commander, who may step out of retirement to help Valley.

Valley squad from: Andy Stevens, Dan Bell; Liam Nicell, Harry Donaghey, Craig Herbert, Delroy Gordon, Sean Castleton, Andy Commander; Marcel Simpson, Shawn Richards, Matt Gearing, Allando Davis, David Staff, Ben Twigger, Steve Purton, Neil Melvin; Josh Thompson, Jason Ramsay, Matt Wells, David Kolodynski.
