Saturday's
6-0 win over Dudley Sports at Butlin
Road was one of the biggest wins of
the First Qualifying Round and meant
that Valley will make an appearance
in the 2nd Qualifying Round for the
third time in four seasons.
Hucknall
were relegated from the Blue Square
North last season and currently lie
9th in the UniBond Premier.
Valley's
last meeting with the Nottinghamshire-based
side came in the 2002/3 season when
Rugby won 2-1 in the 1st Round of
the FA Trophy at Butlin Road.
The
only other competitive meeting came
way back in January 1984 in the FA
Vase 4th Round when Hucknall (then
named Colliery Welfare) knocked out
the then-Vase holders Rugby 2-0.
The
game will be played at Butlin Road
on Saturday 26th September 2009.
Last
season, Rugby made progress to the
Third Qualifying Round of the FA Cup
for the second time in three seasons
but fell to a last minute penalty
at Blue Square South side Bishop's
Stortford.
Valley
last reached the FA Cup First Round
proper way back in 1993-4 nearly 16
years ago.
