Having
seen off Atherstone Town in the last
round after a replay, Rugby will be
looking to extend their unbeaten start
to the season and record a third successive
victory.
Rugby
have made it to the Second Qualifyind
Round in three of the last four seasons.
Wednesfield
: The Cottagers currently
lie 10th in the West Midlands (Regional)
League Premier having lost just one
game this season which came last weekend.
Wednesfield
overcame Castle Vale in the last round
to reach this stage and they have
only reached the second qualifying
round once in their history.
Head2Head:
Rugby's last meetings with Wednesfield
came 27 years ago in the West Midlands
Premier.
Valley's
last meeting with Wednesfield Social
resulted in a 0-0 away draw on the
19 April 1983, just 11 days before
our Wembley final.
Incredibly
we played in the FA Vase Semi- Final
2nd Leg at Great Yarmouth on 2nd April
followed by league fixtures on April
4th, 6th, 9th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 19th,
21st, 23rd & 26th before lifting
the FA Vase.
The
other fixture with Wednesfield in
1982/83 season was also 0-0 at home
on 29th January.
Team
news: Manager Martin Sockett's
options for Saturday will be boosted
by the return to the squad of Nick
Heath, Danny Phipps-Hall and Paddy
Connolly - all of whom were unavailable
last weekend.
He will be without the cup-tied recent
signing Andy Gundelach though, and
will closely monitor Niki Preston
(hamstring), Craig Civzelis (knee)
and Chad Sheppard (ankle) in the run-up
to the game.
