Valley succeeded after a replay against Atherstone Town last season in the Preliminary Qualifying Round

Gornal and Shifnal play in the Extra Preliminary Round with Valley waiting in the next round.

Gornal are based in Dudley and last season finished second in the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier two places above Wednesfield, who shocked Valley in the First Qualifying Round last season.

Last year, Rugby overcame Atherstone Town in the Preliminary Qualifying Round with a 3-0 win in a replay at Sheepy Road.

Meanwhile Shropshire-based side Shifnal Town are also members of the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier and finished ninth last season.

Both Shifnal and Gornal are two steps below Rugby in the non-league pyramid.

Valley could face Kidsgrove, Atherstone or Cadbury Athletic in the First Qualifying Round should they progress.

Rugby have made a couple of forays as far as the Third Qualifying Rounds in the last five seasons before suffering unfortunate defeats to Chelmsford City & most recently Bishop's Stortford in 2008.

Valley last reached the FA Cup First Round proper back in 1993-4 nearly 18 years ago while Rugby's best FA Cup record came in 1987-88 and 1992-93 when they reached the Second Round Proper.

Meanwhile in the FA Carlsberg Trophy, Valley face Sutton Coldfield in the Preliminary Qualifying Round.

Rugby won through to the Second Qualifying Round iin the Trophy last season after wins against Leighton Town and Hemel Hempstead Town before losing out to NPL Premier side Stocksbridge Park Steels in the last minute.

The winner of that game will travel to Evo-Stik League Southern Division One Central newcomers St Neots Town.

The FA Cup game will take place on Saturday 3rd September 2011 at Butlin Road while the FA Trophy game against Leighton is scheduled for Saturday 8th October 2011.
