New Rugby boss Dave Stringer has started
his reign at Butlin Road with two
wins from the opening two games of
the season including Tuesday's stoppage
time win against Leighton Town.
Winger
Richard Wesley has scored two in two
games including the solitary goal
against Chertsey on the opening day
while centre back Melvin Gourlay netted
the late winner on Tuesday.
Valley
have not recorded wins in their opening
three games of the season since 2003
when victories against Gloucester,
Gresley and Yate started the season
a treat.
Rugby
faced Burnham twice in two weeks during
Valley's poor run of form through
February and March last season and
suffered two defeats including a 1-2
reversal at The Gore.
Valley's
historial record against Burnham is
simply abysmal with six defeats resulting
from the six meetings since 1999 when
the sides first met.
Burnham
finished last season in fourteenth
place after recovering from a poor
start which had seen them languishing
in the relegation places going into
2011.
This
season the Blues have opened up with
a defeat to Daventry and a home draw
against Ashford Town in mid-week.
Stringer
will be forced into his first change
after naming unchanged line-ups for
the first two games as striker Seb
Hamilton is unavailable due to work
committments.
This
could mean a first start for young
striker Lewis Haycock who has featured
as an energetic substitute so far
this season.
Full
back Danny Hall may return to the
squad after returning from holiday.
Valley
Squad from: Louis Connor,
Pete Smith; Gary Moran, Dominic Reece,
Nick Preston, Melvin Gourlay, Jamel
Wilson, Danny Hall; Ben Steane, Richard
Wesley, Andy Gundelach, JJ Cole, Adam
Khan, Lynval Da Costa, Steve Evans;
Lewis Haycock, Tyrone Fagan.
