Rugby have made a perfect start to
the season with three straight wins
including Saturday's 2-0 win at Burnham.
Without
playing exceptionally well, Valley
have ground out three good victories
and boss Dave Stringer will be hoping
his side can keep up their excellent
start.
Three
sides currently share the lead at
the top of the Evo-Stik League Southern
Division One Central with surprise
package Bedworth United leading the
way on goal difference followed by
St Neots and Rugby.
However
the visit of Aylesbury is likely to
represent the toughest match yet for
Rugby.
Tuesday's
visitors Aylesbury have made a decent
start with a win, a draw from their
opening three games although they
have had a tough start having played
much-fancied trio Slough, Daventry
and St Neots so far.
Last
season Aylesbury finished two places
below Valley but with a very similar
record over the season and the sides
traded blows with Aylesbury coming
out on top 1-0 at Butlin Road in January
with Rugby avenging the result in
March with a 3-1 victory at Haywood
Way.
Rugby
have played just one game at home
so far with Richard Wesley scoring
the only goal in a 1-0 win over Chertsey
on the opening day.
Local
lad Wesley is enjoying a particularly
purple patch in front of goal having
netted a goal in each of the first
three games.
Stringer
should welcome back striker Seb Hamilton
to the fold after work committments
ruled him out of Saturday's game.
However
Rugby may have to be without the impressive
Lewis Haycock for several weeks after
the forward picked up an ankle injury
at Burnham.
Another
absentee is right back Gary Moran
although Stringer is hoping to introduce
a new face in the shape of ex-Coalvillle
Town midfielder Lee Miveld who signed
on Monday.
Valley
are still missing Danny Hall (holiday)
and Paddy Connolly (knee).
Valley
Squad from: Louis Connor,
Pete Smith; Gary Moran, Dominic Reece,
Nick Preston, Melvin Gourlay, Jamel
Wilson; Ben Steane, Richard Wesley,
Andy Gundelach, JJ Cole, Adam Khan,
Lynval Da Costa, Steve Evans, Lee
Miveld; Seb Hamilton, Tyrone Fagan.
