With Town enjoying a successful season on the pitch challenging for promotion to the Evostik Southern League Premier Division, the club are keen to further develop their infrastructure and off-field activities too.
Valley Chairman Brian Melvin explains: “The Board of Directors see this appointment as an important step in further establishing the club as something the whole town can be proud of.
“Michael has a successful track record of running a large portfolio of commercial properties across the country, and we are delighted that he is bringing these skills to the club to help us maximise our potential.”
Moran, 36, is a keen football fan and has lived in Rugby for 13 years - with his retail and leisure asset management and investment business Moran RAC Ltd also based within the town. He is excited about the challenge awaiting him: “I believe the club’s potential is immense.
"We have one of the best non-league grounds in the country and a town with a population approaching 100,000.
“I know there will be a lot of hard work ahead, but I’m looking forward at getting stuck into it.
“The club has come a long way with the development of a great facility at Butlin Road, and now we will continue this with a sustainable step-by-step commercial plan.”
Moran has previous experience in various football commercial projects – including with Everton FC and a number of other non-league clubs. |
