It was another successful summer for the Rugby Town’s car boot sales held in the Butlin Road car park on Sunday mornings, and the organising team presented the club with a cheque for £4,000 recently to help with its running and infrastructure costs.
Director Mike Yeats accepted the contribution on behalf of the club, and he thanked everybody concerned for their sterling efforts in this regard.
He said: "The car boots are an extremely vital revenue stream for us, and we are particularly grateful to co-ordinators Digby and Jean Berry, and also to Michael Bird for their continued commitment to them.
"A proportion of this most recent donation has already been earmarked to go towards the much-needed improvements to the public address system at Butlin Road, and we thank all the sellers and buyers who have helped made the events such a success over recent years."
Mike also acknowledged Tesco for their generous donation of two new flat-screen TVs for the club boardroom and sponsors lounge - especially for Tesco’s Becky Goodall help in arranging this. |
