Richard has had an injury hit campaign in the first half of this season for Stratford but has managed nine goals.
Valley had approached Stratford for Gregory's services back in November and Stringer will be pleased to have finally secured his signing.
Richard tweeted yesterday: 'Finally put pen to paper and signed for @fcrugbytown looking forward to the rest of the season. #goals #promotion'.
Gregory should be available in the squad to feature in tonight's Red Insure Cup tie at Biggleswade Town.
Meanwhile, forward Lewis Rankin has signed a contract with Rugby until the end of the season.
Rankin, 19, joined in October from Coventry City and has impressed with three goals and four assists in his ten appearances for the club.
Lewis is currently sidelined for at least another week with an ankle injury sustained against Hanwell in December.
