New Valley boss Gary Mills has had a busy first week as manager as five key members of last season's squad have committed to Rugby for the new season.
Goalkeeper Neil Collett, defenders Mason Rowley & Craig Kelly and midfield duo Lewis McBride & Lewis Rankin have all verbally agreed to stay at Butlin Road for Valley's new adventure in the Northern Premier League after meeting with Mills last night.
Centre back Rowley, 22, has made 100 league starts for Valley since joining in 2012 and won both the Players' Player & Supporters' Player of the Season awards for last season.
McBride, 23, who was limited to only 16 league starts last season due to work commitments and injury but nonetheless won the Media Star Man award for last season, has recently had a knee operation to a meniscus problem and hopes to return to full fitness in time for pre-season.
26-year-old left back Kelly, who collected the Manager's Player of the Season, will line up alongside goalkeeper Neil Collett, 25, who Mills previously worked with at Nuneaton.
Ex-Coventry trainee Lewis Rankin, 19, had an impressive first season with Rugby scoring five goals and assisting eight in 14 starts last season.
Mills is keen to keep a number of last season's squad at the club and will be talking with the remaining members of the team in the coming days before looking to bring in fresh faces over the summer to strengthen the squad.
Meanwhile midfielder Robbie Banks has left the club to join Coventry Sphinx.
