Local serving clubman Tony Mann helped to raise £800 for the Friends of the Hospital of St Cross Charity.
Tony, who is a Vice President of the club and also organises the club's away travel, recently held his 70th birthday party at the club's VS Bar.
Tony asked that his friends, relatives and club supporters make donations to the Friends of St Cross which is the charity which the Club also supports.

A further £750 was raised by the residents of Hannover Court who held a Coffee and Cake event in aid of the Appeal and sold Books, Hand Knitted items, Jewellery as well as running a White Elephant Stall.
Meanwhile, the Charity’s fund raising team held their annual Black Tie Dinner which was attended by 100 guests who were entertained by the Me and My Shadow duet of Nathan Dowling and Kenny Robinson and the inimitable Sally Jones. There was a raffle and an auction of nine items including Ferrari, Porsche Boxster and VW driving experiences (donated by Meridien Modena, Porsche Silverstone and Listers Nuneaton respectively), a London concert weekend(donated by Jamesway Travel), Dinner for Two, a signed photograph of Sir Clive Woodward and six bottles of wine (all donated by the Butcher’s Arms, Priors Hardwick), Diamond earings (donated by Parriss Jewellers) and a Venetian Glass Chandelier (donated by Samantha Lennard and Barry Grout).
The auction raised £1,560 and the overall total for the event was £5,015 – a record for one event organised by the Friends fund raising team.
