Six goals were shared in Valley's second warm-up game away at local side Coventry Copsewood.
The match was played out in sodden conditions on Copsewood's practice pitch which did not make for a great spectacle for the soaked supporters on the sidelines.
Copsewood, who finished 12th in the Midland Football League Division One last season, were very competitive as the sides played out a draw.
Ross Miller deputised in charge of the side with Dave Stringer on holiday and the starting line-up had a bit of a shake up from the 3-2 win over Atherstone with starts for Aiden Print, Callum Burgess and Tevin Shakespeare.
There were slips and trips aplenty in the wet conditions, some of which led directly to the game's six goals.
Josh Ruff scored a first half low free kick before substitute Ruben Wiggins-Thomas and fellow striker David Kolodynski netted for Valley.
Liam Davies, Loz Rawlings and Andre Yerou were on target for the home side.
Valley Starting Line-Up: Cooper; Print, Kelly, M Rowley, Burgess; Ruff, Holloway, Holt, Dance; Kolodynski, Shakespeare. |
