After just over two weeks since the appeal launched the Rugby Town Vice Presidents have raised over £1,500 for their floodlight appeal.
Vice Presidents' chair Mike Yeats was keen to thank the 42 supporters so far who have made donations and urged fans to visit the Just Giving page to help to reach the £5,000 target.
"The response so far has been fantastic and our fans have shown great generosity to the cause.
"We have under two weeks left now of the scheme so let's see if we can reach that target as we go into an exciting new season.
"Works on the floodlights have started this week including cabling and foundations and the new lighting columns should be operational within the first few months of the season."

The club have successfully secured a £29,500 grant from the Football Stadia Improvement Fund which represents 50% of the project cost to make the scheme possible but the Vice Presidents' Section are seeking donations from supporters to help to fund the shortfall.
Having obtained planning permission for the scheme last month, works are set to get underway in the coming weeks to take down the existing eight floodlight columns and replace with a brand new four-column modern lighting system.
Vice Presidents' representative Mike Yeats explained: "Once again we are delighted to have secured funding to help make necessary and important improvements to the Butlin Road facility.
"But the more help we can get to fund this scheme will release funds for other projects and ensure we can do as well as possible on the field this season.
"All donations are welcome no matter how big or small and anyone wishing to donate is urged to visit the Vice Presidents' Just Giving page or contact the club who can point you in the right direction."
The new floodlights will improve lux readings on the surface and will improve unobstructed views for supporters. The scheme will also future-proof the club for future progression up the football pyramid.
The existing floodlights which were installed over 30 years ago are close to the end of their designed life and replacement is necessary. |
