Another disappointing performance from Valley Youth in their first home action of the season saw them lose 1-4 to Bromsgrove Sporting.

In the same week as the first team were forced to field an outfield player in goal after Niall Cooper's first half injury at South Normanton, the goalkeeper curse struck again with youth stopper Charlie Beck having to replaced by midfielder Josh Nicholls just before half time.
The game started with both sides trying to play the ball on a perfect night for football but Valley Youth struggling to maintain possession.
As with the first game of the season at Alvechurch two weeks ago, Rugby's opponents were quick to capitalise on Valley giving the ball away and Bromsgrove deserved to be three-nil up at half time.
Valley Youth manager Josh Hearne-Wilkins introduced a string of substitutes at half time to inject some life into performance but Bromsgrove struck again just after halftime.
After this Rugby did start to string some passes together and gained a foothold in the game when captain Jack Spears scored a wonderful hooked lobbed volley but this was little more than a consolation in another game for the youth side to forget.
With a big thanks to the supporters that turned out for the first home of the season and to our new shirt sponsors Stanair. |
