Valley youth started the new year with a well disciplined performance but lacking a killer edge against their full time opponents.

The game started with Valley youth defending deep looking to frustrate juniors and they did this well with juniors changing tactics several times until the deadlock was broken in the 30th minute with a sliced goal that looped over Alex Hart in the valley goal. The fog seemingly played a part in the next goal when the ball into the box was missed by the defence and finished well by juniours. Frustratingly, this was only their second shot on target of the game.
Valley kept going maintaining discipline and looking to counter but the game looked dead and buried on the stroke of halftime when a deflected shot looped over the goalkeeper. This was not a fair reflection on Valley youth's first half effort.
After halftime, Valley started well and when Ibrahim kouyate beat the centre half and smashed the ball home, it looked like game on. However, the game was killed off when juniors added a fourth towards the end.
Valley youth have a real battle to avoid relegation.
