New Signings: Lewis Rankin & Charlie Faulkner
Rugby Town manager Carl Adams has moved to bring two ex-Valley midfielders back to Butlin Road with Lewis Rankin and Charlie Faulkner agreeing deals.
The attacking midfielders both featured for Rugby in the 2016/17 season in the NPL Division One campaign while Rankin also had a previous spell back in 2014.
Lewis originally signed for Rugby in October 2014 after being released by Coventry City and immediately impressed for the Valley with a number of goals and assists in his first few games for the club.
The 22-year-old winger signed a contract with Rugby in January 2015 to keep him at the club until the end of the 2014/5 season before leaving the club in June 2015.
After leaving the club the first time, Rankin featured for Chasetown and Coventry Sphinx before he re-joined in October 2016 from Brackley but his second spell was short lived as he returned to Brackley in November 2016.
Last season Rankin scored 13 goals for Coventry United in the MFL Premier Division.
Meanwhile 20-year-old Faulkner played under Adams at Stratford where he joined Rugby from on a dual-registration basis in October 2016.
Last season Faulkner scored eight goals for Coventry Sphinx after joining from Knowle. |
