FA Cup & FA Vase Draws
Valley have been drawn away to MFL Premier Division side Coventry United in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round for the second successive year.
Last
season, Rugby beat United in the season's curtain opener with a 2-1 win at Butts Park Area before bowing out against then NPL Division One side Romulus in the Preliminary Round.
Meanwhile Rugby have been given a bye into the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Vase where a meeting with either Melton Town or Ingles.

Valley have reached as far as the Third Qualifying Round twice in the last 10 years before suffering
defeats to Bishop's
Stortford in 2008 and Worcester City in 2013.
Valley
last reached the FA Cup First Round
proper back in 1993-4 nearly 18 years
ago while Rugby's best FA Cup record
came in 1987-88 and 1992-93 when they
reached the Second Round Proper.
This year's Extra Preliminary Round tie will be played at The Butts Park Arena on Saturday 11th August 2018.
The winners of the tie will host Southern League Division One side Evesham United on Saturday 25th August 2018 in the Preliminary Round.

Meanwhile, Rugby have been drawn away to either UCL Division One side Melton Town or East Midlands Counties League side Ingles.
Ingles, who groundshare with Shepshed Dynamo, won promotion from the Leicestershire Senior League last season while melton finished 16th last season in the UCL Division One.
This season will be the second since the 1984/85 campaign that Rugby have competed in the FA Vase.
Last season Rugby won three games in the Vase before bowing out to Wolverhampton Sporting Club in a Second Round replay at Butlin Road.
Valley famously won the FA Vase in 1983 beating Halesowen Town 1-0 in the final at Wembley Stadium.
The FA Vase 2nd Qualifying Round will be played at either Melton or Ingles on Saturday 15th September 2018. |
