FA Cup Draw: Rugby v Hednesford
Rugby Town will play more Step 3 opposition in the Emirates FA Cup after being drawn at home to Hednesford Town in the Second Qualifying Round.
Valley won through to the Second Qualifying Round with an exhilirating 4-2 win over Redditch United who play two levels higher than Rugby in the non-league pyramid.
Rugby have already won three games in the FA Cup this season with victories over Coventry United and Evesham United in the previous rounds.
Hednesford play in the Northern Premier League Premier Division, two divisions above Rugby, and they made it through to this stage courtesy of a 2-0 win over Tamworth in the last round.
Hednesford, like Redditch, were one one Rugby's pre-season opponents and Valley lost out 2-1 at Keys Park.
The clubs have met on 37 previous occasions including twice in the FA Cup in 2004 when The Pitmen won through after a replay at Keys Park after a draw at Butlin Road in the First Qualifyijng Round.
Valley have reached as far as the Third Qualifying Round twice in the last 10 years before suffering
defeats to Bishop's
Stortford in 2008 and Worcester City in 2013.
Valley
last reached the FA Cup First Round
proper back in 1993-4 nearly 25 years
ago while Rugby's best FA Cup record
came in 1987-88 and 1992-93 when they
reached the Second Round Proper.
