Butlin Road To Host FA Women's National League Finals
On Sunday 14th April, Butlin Road will take centre stage as Rugby Town FC host two FA Women’s National League Cup Finals.
Firstly, Charlton Athletic Women Reserves take on Blackburn Rovers Ladies Reserves in the FA WNL Reserve Cup, followed by Milton Keynes Dons Ladies and Liverpool Feds Women battling it out for supremacy in the FA WNL Plate Final.
Charlton Athletic Reserves are currently in second place in the Reserve South/South-East Division, level on points with the leaders. Blackburn Rovers Reserves sit top in the Reserve Northern Division 1.
With both teams having a chance of doing the double this season, they will be relishing the chance to win this national competition.
Liverpool Feds have enjoyed a successful season in Women’s National League Division 1 North in 2018/19, and are now sitting comfortably in the top half of the table.
West Bromwich Albion have also been having a rosy 2018/19, with a 100% record in the league seeing them bounce back from relegation last season to lead the title chase in the FA WNL Division 1 Midlands. It promises to be an enthralling match up.
FA Women’s National League Chairman Carol West said: “We’re delighted to be heading to Rugby Town FC for this exciting double header.
"The Reserve Cup Final is a great chance for developing players to take centre stage, and the Plate Final sees two closely matched teams meet in what should be a great game.”
Rugby Town FC Director Neil Melvin added: “All at Rugby Town are very pleased to be hosting these two FA Women’s National League finals.
“We were delighted to be asked to stage the event at Butlin Road and everyone at the club is really looking forward to the day.
“I am sure that our own supporters as well as the wider community in Rugby will be keen to support the event and we look forward to seeing everyone on the day.”
The ground opens at 10.00 with the Reserve Cup Final at 11.00 and the Plate Final at 15.00. Tickets are priced at £5 adults (which includes a match programme), £2.50 for concessions and £1 for children (under-3s are free). |
