Charlie Returns To Rugby
Charlie Evans has agreed to rejoin Rugby Town from Hinckley, signing a one-year deal.
The 25-year-old forward scored 40 goals in 91 games in his first spell at Butlin Road from 2018 to 2021.
Charlie originally joined Rugby in July 2018 from Stratford Town, following old boss Carl Adams to Butlin Road after originally breaking through the youth ranks at Stratford in 2015.
Evans quickly became an integral player in Rugby's attacking arsenal scoring 19 goals in his first season, picking up a number of Player of the Season awards.
Throughout his first three years with Valley, Charlie always showed great commitment and versatility operating anywhere across the frontline as well as midfield as well as wing back.
Charlie left the club in September 2021 to join Hinckley and had a successful season scoring 30 goals in UCL Division One as they almost gained promotion.
Prior to joining Rugby originally, Evans featured 41 times for Stratford in the Southern League Premier in the 2017/18 scoring three goals.
Charlie joins Valley's other contingent of contract signees Edwin Ahenkorah, Ash Bodycote, Caine Elliott, Luke English, Barry Fitzharris, Matt Hill, David Kolodynski, Keenah Rosser, Ryan Seal, MJ Semahimbo and Dan Summerfield in agreeing deals for the 2022/23 season. |
