Spider Joins Valley Coaching Staff
Defender Liam Francis has become a player/coach with Rugby Town.
Affectionately known as Spider, the 32-year-old defender has made 92 appearances for Rugby so far since joining manager Carl Adams from Statford Town in 2018, scoring 17 goals.
Adams was delighted to have Liam join his coaching staff: "We're over the moon to get Spider on-board with my backroom staff while he will continue to be an option for the playing squad.
"He is loved by players and supporters alike and his experience will be invaluable for us as he takes the next step on his footballing journey.
"He's a great character to have around the dressing room."
Prior to joining Rugby, Francis spent the previous three seasons under Valley boss Carl Adams at Stratford Town, scoring seven goals in 139 appearances before opting to join Redditch in the summer of 2018.
Liam started his youth career with Coventry City before spells with Leamington, Redditch, Tamworth and Hednesford which preceeded his stay with Stratford. |
