League Line-Up Revised 25/26
Rugby Town will remain in the NPL Midlands for the 2025/26 season after the confirmation of an FA reprieve.
Valley finished fourth bottom in the NPL Midlands last season meaning they were planning for life back in the UCL Premier Divison South again next season but they have been offered a reprieve after Hinckley Leicester Road's decision to pull out of the league due to going into voluntary liquidation on Friday afternoon.
It means Rugby will line-up again against 13 of last season's NPL Midlands opponents with eight new opponents entering the division.
There's four newly-promoted teams - with Bourne Town and St Neots Town coming up from the United Counties League and Lichfield City as Midland Football League Champions while of course for the first time in the town's history there will be a Rugby derby with the promotion of Rugby Borough via the UCL Premier South play-offs.
Mickleover and Basford United, both relegated from the NPL Premier Division, will also join the division while Quorn and Worcester City were both promoted last season to the Southern League Premier Central.
Walsall-based pair Darlaston Town and Sporting Khalsa have been laterally moved into the NPL West with Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire duo Belper Town and Carlton Town coming in to replace them from the NPL East.
Grantham Town and Lye Town were both relegated.
Valley have faced some of the league newcomers Basford, Belper, Carlton and St Neots previously in recent seasons but it will be the first time the club has faced Bourne, Lichfield , Mickleover and Rugby Borough competitively.
The new season will now start in August 2025, probably with an FA Cup fixture with the league following on 9 August.
