Samuels First Signing of Summer
Valley manager Grant Joshua is delighted to welcome winger Louis Samuels to Rugby Town.
The 30-year-old becomes the club's first new arrival of the summer and joins with an impressive record of goals and attacking output in recent seasons.
Samuels spent last season with his boyhood club Aylestone Park in the UCL Premier South, scoring 26 goals, having previously netted 24 goals across spells for Shepshed Dynamo in the NPL Midlands and Lutterworth Town in the UCL during the 2024/25 campaign.
Earlier stints with Aylestone and Lutterworth also saw him consistently produce goals from wide areas, including an impressive 39-goal haul during the 2022/23 season as AP were promoted to the UCL Premier.
Manager Grant Joshua admitted Samuels has been on the club’s radar for some time.
"We're delighted to get Lou done.
"He's been a club target for a few years now, so I'm happy we can deliver this signing to our supporters going into the new season."
Joshua believes the winger’s attacking qualities will add an important dimension to the squad.
"He’s a proven player and a proven goalscorer – over 20 goals at Step 4/5 in each of the last two seasons. I feel he's really coming into his prime and that's brilliant for us.
"Lou will fit us perfectly with how he plays. He’s a constant threat on the last line and having goalscoring wide men and exciting wide men is something our club need.
"It’s important we add goals into the team after last season."
Samuels becomes the first new addition of the summer as Town continue preparations for the new campaign. |
