Boothe In To Boost Attack
Manager Grant Joshua has boosted his attacking options with experienced striker Ryan Boothe agreeing terms for the new season.
The 30-year-old forward arrives at Butlin Road with strong experience at both Step 3 and Step 4 level, most notably finishing the 2024/25 campaign with Redditch United where he scored nine goals in his final 14 games following spells with Bedworth United and Bromsgrove Sporting.
Last season Boothe featured for Shifnal Town, Bedworth United and most recently Coleshill Town, while previous years have also seen him gain valuable experience at higher levels with Halesowen Town and Redditch United.
Manager Grant Joshua revealed the move had been discussed for some time. "I think this signing has been on the cards for over five years. Ryan and I have had conversations every pre-season and I believe timing is everything in football and it’s the time to work together now.
"He’s shown an appetite to regain his best form and I will help him do that."
Joshua believes Boothe’s experience and profile will complement the attacking options already at the club: "Again, a proven Step 3 and 4 lad of experience coming in the door with a point to prove that will only benefit us and he'll handle the size of the club and the expectations no problem."
The Town boss also highlighted the potential partnership with current forward Rivel Mardenborough. "Boothy offers us a different style to Rivel but a partnership that could absolutely flourish and would be a huge problem to come up against.
"It’s got a bit of everything which excites me. Ryan is coming in fantastic shape and with a hunger to be hitting very good numbers." |
