Sam re-joined Rugby Town in August 2017 for his third spell from Atherstone Town.
The midfielder originally signed from Bedworth United in November 2012.
Belcher quickly became a firm favourite with the Valley faithful with his tough tackling approach, composure on the ball and passing ability from the centre of the park.
However, Sam suffered an injury at the end of the 2012/3 season at Burnham which meant missing the Play-Off campaign.
After trying to return at the start of the 2013/4 Sam unfortunately broke down in matches & training and he was finally diagnosed with a ruptured cruciate ligament which ruled him out for another two seasons before finally returning to fitness with Nuneaton Griff at the end of the 2015/16 season.
Sam re-joined Rugby in June 2016 under James Jepson for his second spell after that long period out with injury but he left the club in September 2016 after Gary Moran's arrival as manager.
Belcher's third spell saw him feature throughout the 2017/18 season under Dave Stringer in the MFL Premier Division.
Sam had a successful 2011/2 season with Blue Square Bet Conference North side Hinckley featuring in 39 games and scoring nine goals before joining Bedworth in August 2012.
Belcher started his career as a junior with Coventry before moving on to Wycombe Wanderers at youth level.
Belcher left the club in May 2018 to join Hinckley. |
