Simon signed for Rugby in June 2006 and after featuring in the pre-season friendlies spent the season with the reserve team, where his impressive displays earnt him the Player of the Season accolade.

Lynn was then thrown in at the deep end to make his first team league debut at home against King's Lynn when he put in a good display to keep a clean sheet.
