Marcel originally signed for Rugby Town in October 2008 from Southern League Premier side Evesham United.

The 30-year-old defender made his debut in the Southern League Cup defeat to Bedworth United but had to wait until his first league start against against Cambridge City in January 2009.

Marcel was more involved during the 09/10 seaon in a variety of positions but Lee Colkin's arrival meant opportunties were limited and Simpson left to join Bedworth in November 2009.

Simpson established himself with Daventry Town in the 2013/4 season before re-joining Rugby in July 2014.

Marcel left Rugby in October 2014.
