David joined Rugby Town for his second spell in January 2009 after taking a break from the game to appear on Sky One's Gladiators programme.

Staffy initially joined Valley on a short-term loan from Nuneaton Borough in March 2007 and made an immediate impact with a Star Man performance in his debut against Yate Town. He then made the switch permanent ahead of the 2007/8 season.

A versatile attacking midfielder, David had an excellent pedigree in non-league football and has also appeared in the Football League for Boston United. Played under former Valley boss Billy Jeffrey at Stamford before securing a move to Boston and has also played for King's Lynn and Cambridge City.

Staff left the club at the end of the 07/08 season to join divisional rivals Brackley Town before his television appearance.

David was released in January 2010.
