David
was a rapid and
skilful player who
is well-known in
the BGB Premier
Division for tremendous
solo goals.
The
Jamaican born striker
top scored in his
first season with
the club, averaging
nearly a goal every
two games after
he was one of former
manager Billy Jeffrey's
first signings for
Rugby.
A
then 20-year-old
David signed from
local side Daventry
Town where Jeffrey
kept a close eye
on him before bringing
him to Butlin Road
where he impressed
immediately with
his lightning pace
and goalscoring.
Won the Manager's
Player of the Year
in his first season
with the club.
David
scored many a memorable
goal for Valley
in his three seasons
with the club before
leaving to join
Brackley Town in
July 2008.
After
a spell with Nuneaton
Town, Stone rejoined
Rugby in October
2008 but after 22
league appearances
and 6 goals, David
left the club for
a second time in
March 2009. |
